Our system of government taxation needs an overhaul! More specifically, it needs to retro back to our founding fathers form of government. As the baby boomers bubble begins to pass into that retirement arena, a lot of concern has been placed on the economy.

Will social security hold out? Should it be taxed higher and more collected? Should taxes in general be higher? Print more money? Bailouts? On and on, the questions could potentially never end with no real answers.

Here I will begin a short series on a system of taxation that will benefit all, especially aging baby boomers. It is called the FairTax. It is primarily based on consumption.

What would you say to the aspect of being able to work full time and draw social security as well. No doubt there will be many, especially of the generation-x group that will say “There is another one of those self serving baby boomers and his plan to have more”.

It is already an established fact that the retiring baby boomers will put a great strain on the social security system. More people retiring and less people paying in from subsequent generations. NOTE: This is not necessarily because of the sheer number of baby boomers but because the government has borrowed and depleted the funds.

I am not a statistician so it will be hard for me to put actual figures to this plan. I do think that in principle it would work for several different reasons. The primary reason is that many baby boomers (78 million strong) in these economic hard times will wish to continue to work. (more…)

I recently received an email that made the statement or claim that the government has intentions of seizing the private 401(k) pensions of millions of Americans while enforcing an additional 5 per cent payroll tax as part of a new bailout program.

This is a must read for millions of baby boomers who have worked most of their lives to build a nest egg for retirement. Now, with the prospect of a take over government confiscating YOUR pension, taxing it and turning it over to an already bankrupt social security administration, how will baby boomers handle their pensions?

There is a lot of talk about what baby boomers should be doing about retirement these days. Should we keep on working (if we can) or should we go ahead and retire and hope social security holds out. Well, there are other alternatives. We can quietly start putting away gold and silver for that rainy day.

When it comes to investing in (or with) gold, the way may not be so clear. There are many scams and scammers that will have no qualms about taking your money. There are other drawbacks in the form of naysayers who wish to misinform and might I say on purpose.

The 1983 Social Security “fix” required the baby boomers to pay much higher payroll taxes so that they would prepay most of the cost of their own benefits. The higher taxes would generate Social Security surpluses for approximately 30 years, which were supposed to be saved and invested to build up a large reserve in the trust fund. Then, when the baby boomers began to retire in about 2010, the accumulated surpluses from the previous three decades would gradually be drawn down and used to supplement the payroll tax revenue, which was expected to become inadequate to pay full benefits by about 2015. The 1983 Social Security legislation laid the foundation for the greatest fraud ever perpetrated against the American people by their government. The $2.54 trillion in surplus Social Security revenue, generated by the 1983 payroll tax hike, has all been “borrowed” or “stolen” by the government and used to fund tax cuts for the rich, wars, and other government programs.

Business start-ups were at a 14-year high in 2009 according to the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. The Foundation also reported that those in the 54-66 age group were the most likely to start a new businesses!

I know we’re all a bit sick and tired of promises of “automated software” that will make us rich before dinner.

And I’m always the first to be skeptical of these kinds of outrageous claims.

But today I may have to actually eat my words.

Because I just picked up a listbuilding system that really is incredibly fast…,

And the traffic actually does keeps flowing in on auto-pilot.

It’s a pretty new tactic on the scene that I’ve heard of.

Aging baby boomers are moving through time like a big bubble in a water hose. Few before and few after as far as demographics go. Baby boomers, at least for the time being, is the largest demographic group having nearly 78 million strong.

This means there should be and in fact is many businesses planned around the needs and wants of this group. One of the big pushes these days is the home based franchises or an individual franchise.

This is a technology world, there is no doubt. The up and coming younger generations are the ones considered the most savvy when it comes to that technology. The baby boomers generation, however, makes up the largest single group of the population right now and are responsible for huge markets in that techno world. It would be a huge mistake to think that nearly 78 million baby boomers are not buyers. According to a nielsen report, they spend 38.5% on consumer packaged goods (CPG) alone. This same report also states that baby boomers account for 40% of customers paying for wireless services and 41% of customers paying for Apple personal computers.
